Hewlett Packard Enterprise Press is the official publisher of study guides for HPE Partner Ready Certification and Learning and HPE books for business and IT professionals. Stoere Binken Design is handling the rebranding of the HP Press website and webshop, their primary communication channel and marketing spearhead.

Following an agency selection process, HP, through partner company EPAC, chose Stoere Binken Design as the partner for the redesign of the HP Press website. The user statistics of the 2-year-old website speak volumes; the website does not meet expectations and revenue is lagging behind. The objective is to make the website and webshop more attractive and to increase conversion.
Custom-made shopping cart journey
The first focus during the redesign was drastically simplifying the shopping cart journey, the website’s bottleneck. Our analysis of statistics revealed that 60% of potential buyers drop out during the shopping cart journey and do not complete their purchase.
During further research, we located these points in the purchasing process to develop a targeted solution. One of the successful solutions we developed is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) module. This displays exactly the right answers at the point the buyer is in the purchasing process.
We also invested a lot of time in the visual redesign of the Shopping Cart on the website. This animated solution makes purchasing more attractive and thereby increases conversion.
Thanks to our experience with webshops and User Experience, we were able to reduce the shopping cart journey from 7 to 3 steps:
- My Shopping Cart: Overview of all products placed in the shopping cart.
- Shipping & Payment: Shipping and payment details for this and future purchases.

Approximately 56% of online shoppers read reviews to orient themselves before making a purchase. To make optimal use of this ‘social power,’ we gave book reviews and ratings a prominent place on the HP Press website. A strategy that has proven successful.
After one year, the HP Press webshop saw a conversion increase from 1,200 purchases to no less than 11,000 purchases per month.
Homepage Redesign
The previous homepage of the HP Press website felt like a 90s intranet. Unattractive, cluttered, and unclear. Our challenge: an effective and visually inviting website that encourages purchasing.
The website is built using clearly structured content blocks that present the offered trade books in an organized manner. These are interspersed with photos of friendly and professional-looking people. This creates an emotional connection with HP and contributes to conversion.
